Flow boosts its embedded‑finance capabilities by joining the SnelStart Group

  • Strategic acquisition strengthens existing collaboration with Adyen as BaaS partner

  • Flow remains active as an independent brand within the group

Amsterdam, 8 July 2025 Fintech company Flow, a specialist in embedded finance, has recently become part of the SnelStart Group, a provider of administrative software for SMEs. This move follows the successful partnership between Flow and SnelStart in offering embedded banking solutions, enabled in part by Adyen’s Banking-as-a-Service platform.

Embedded finance seamlessly integrates financial services—like payments or financing—into non-financial software, such as accounting programs or apps. According to McKinsey, the embedded finance market in Europe will exceed €100 billion within five years.Flow is known for its innovative approach to automated money flows and embedded banking, offering technology that seamlessly integrates services such as business accounts, payment solutions, or financing into software platforms—including accounting packages and fintech apps. With this acquisition, founder Daan van Klinken aims to make embedded finance genuinely scalable across the SME segment. Flow will continue to operate as an independent brand and team, maintaining its own product development and mission, while benefiting from the scale, expertise, and customer base of SnelStart—without losing its agility as an innovative fintech firm.

Business account in one working day
Flow and SnelStart already launched a joint initiative to integrate banking services. Thanks to Flow’s technology, entrepreneurs can now open a business account via SnelStart within one working day, fully integrated with their accounting system. Combining bookkeeping and banking in one platform is still relatively uncommon in the SME segment, but it aligns perfectly with the growing demand for user-friendly, digital all-in-one solutions. Van Klinken says:

“Integrating banking is the future of finance for entrepreneurs. By linking financial services and delivering the infrastructure, licenses, compliance, and ready-to-use front end, we bring user-friendly financial solutions within reach—within existing software.”

Deepening the collaboration
SnelStart has been active for over 40 years as a developer of administrative software for entrepreneurs. It offers solutions for accounting, invoicing, time tracking, and inventory management. In recent years, SnelStart has heavily invested in digital innovation, including a move toward embedded banking—a logical step, according to CEO Herman Weessies:

“SnelStart is building an environment in which as an entrepreneur you don’t have to switch between systems, but can bank, file returns, even arrange financing. All in one place. Through our partnership with Flow, we can accelerate embedded banking without needing to build a front end from scratch,” says Weessies. “With this step, we safeguard the continuity of that collaboration and can deepen it further.”
